Symptoms of Fire Blight
Blossoms, shoots and leaves turn brown and wither as if scorched by fire — but remain attached. Bacterial ooze in humid conditions. Shoots bend into a "shepherd's crook" shape.
How to treat Fire Blight
Prune affected branches 30-40 cm below visible symptoms, disinfecting tools between cuts. Spray with copper bactericides during flowering. Remove and burn all prunings. Notify authorities if a large outbreak is suspected.
