Scab — a fungal disease affecting garden plants.

Symptoms of Scab

Dark olive-brown scabby lesions on leaves, fruit and shoots. Fruit cracks and deforms. Leaves may drop prematurely. Most severe in cool, wet spring conditions.

How to treat Scab

Apply copper fungicides (Bordeaux mix) at bud burst and after flowering. Remove and burn fallen leaves. Choose resistant varieties. Ensure good air circulation.
