Rust

Orange-rusty pustules on leaf undersides, yellow-orange spots on upper surface. Premature leaf drop, weakened shoots. Most common on roses, pears, currants.

Remove and destroy affected leaves and shoots. Spray with copper-based fungicides or sulfur preparations. Avoid overhead watering. Remove alternate hosts (junipers near pears).
